Changing the visual Newton for imaging.

Hankin Losmandy G11 jalustantähtivalokuvausta varten. Uuden jalustan myötä opin että kuvauksen onnistumiseen

vaikuttaa moni muukin asia kuin seuranta.

Putkeni oli visuaalikäyttöön optimoitu, newton tyyppinen peilikaukoputki, 250mm/1250mm. Pienen apupeilin vuoksi

kuviin jää pimeät kulmat.

I bought Losmandy G11 for astrophotography. With the new mount, I learned that there were also other things than tracking

which have effects on the success of the imaging.

My telescope was a newton type, 250mm/1250mm, optimised for visual use. Because of the small secondary mirror,

the corners of the photo remain dark.

Siispä suunnittelin putken uudelleen.

So, I re-planned the scope.

Ylläolevassa piirustuksessa on esitetty sekä vanha että uusi rakenne. Suurensin apupeiliä, siirsin sitä lähemmäs pääpeiliä ja

tein uuden tarkennuslaitteeseen. Valaistun kuva-alan halkaisijaksi tuli 36mm, riittää melkein Canon EOS 5D:lle.

F5 pääpeili edellyttää komakorjainta kameran ja putken väliin. Niitä saa Baaderin jälleenmyyjiltä.

Kuvia piirrellessäni huomasin että M42 kierre varjostaa kinokokoisen kuvakennon kulmat pimeiksi kun objektiivina on

kaukana ja aukkosuhde on F5.

On the drawing above are shown the old and the new construction. I made the secondary mirror larger, moved it nearer to the

primary mirror and made the new focuser. The fully alight field became 36mm dia., almost enough for

Canon EOS5D. The F5 primary mirror requires using the coma corrector. Baader is a good one. When I drew the sketch, I noticed that

the M42 thread shadows the corners of full frame image sensor when the objective is far and focal ratio is F5.
